About DealSelected
DealSelected collects discounts, promo codes, cashback offers and limited-time freebies from US retailers every day, written up in English. The same project runs a Chinese edition and a Spanish edition, each maintained separately.
Where the deals come from
Three places: the promotion pages and offer channels retailers publish themselves, offer data that reaches us through partner channels, and submissions from readers. Everything is checked before it goes up and anything that fails the check isn't published; what is published gets re-checked daily, and offers that no longer hold are taken down or marked expired.
That check covers four things: that the link opens and lands on the right page; what the conditions actually are (minimum spend, membership, whether a code is needed, new customers only); whether the discount as described matches what the retailer's own page says; and when it expires. If any of the four doesn't hold up, the deal doesn't get published.
Expired deals stay up
Promotions end. When one does, we mark the page expired rather than deleting it — if you arrive from a search result or a saved link, you can at least see what happened instead of hitting a 404.
That does mean live and finished offers sit side by side on the site. The status marker on the page is what to go by.
The guides are written here
Alongside the deals we publish shopping and money guides: how to use card points, whether the extended warranty is worth it, how to cut a car insurance bill, what to look for in renters insurance, how to recognise a scam text.
Each one is our own research, and for anything factual we try to reach the primary source — regulator notices, the text of a rule, a manufacturer's own terms — rather than repeating someone else's summary. When a rule changes we go back to the old piece and note the update date. The three language versions are written separately; they are not machine translations.
How the site makes money
Some links here are affiliate links: if you buy through one, we may earn a commission from the retailer. It doesn't raise the price you pay.
The full affiliate disclosure is on the terms page, and in short form at the bottom of every page. We'd rather you knew before you clicked.
Tell us when something is wrong
A deal written up wrong, a dead link, conditions that don't match the retailer's page — it happens. If you spot one, tell us and we'll check it and fix it.
And if you find a good deal and want to share it, send it in. Contact details are on the contact page; we usually reply within one or two business days.
